I have been experimenting with different types of comminications between picaxes and pc. The software on the PC is Visual basic. I will be talking to several chips. Anyone here ever done this

Communications Empty Update

Post  djbillyd007 Mon Apr 26, 2010 6:56 pm

To this point I have gotten a rough DCC circuit working using a picaxe 8M in a throttle and a picaxe 8M in a decoder. Signals start at the PC, through homemade throttle, Then down track to homemade decoder. I have them communicating through an H-bridge down the track to the decoder. This is using the serout/in commands and is not NMRA compatable. i am not looking for NMRA compatable at the moment. My interest at this point is to be able to build it all myself. This is very rough at the moment as I am waiting for some surface mount picaxe chips. decoder is larger than my N-scale locomotives at the moment. But I have been able to run trains with all homemade components with a PC.
